Day 2

Explore Cairns region, Atherton Tablelands

We start the trip up in the highland region of the Atherton Tablelands. The landscapes mix of rainforest, wetlands and savanna is home to unique birds and wildlife including the elusive tree kangaroo. At 750m, the tablelands climate is cooler and fresher than the coast. We’ll visit the world heritage listed Millaa Millaa Falls and Curtain Fig Tree. This afternoon we explore José Paronella’s extraordinary dream castle in the forest at Paronella Park and don our miners hat at the unique Crystal Caves.

Day 3

Kurada

This morning we take the spectacular Kuranda Scenic Railway to the ‘village in the rainforest.’ It’s market day in Kuranda – a town which focuses on connections with people and place, with a chance to engage with local artists, crafts, shops and boutiques to cater to all tastes. This afternoon we enjoy a unique perspective of the Wet Tropics Rainforest as we glide above the ancient canopy back to Cairns in the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway.

Day 4

Great Barrier Reef, Low Isles

A special visit to Australia’s most remarkable natural gift today– the UNESCO World Heritage Great Barrier Reef. We will view the reef in a truly unique way on a private charter luxury sailing catamaran. This family owned business leads the way with environmental innovation and design of the world’s first and only allelectric glass bottom boat E Tender, for our exclusive use. Our marine biologist crew sail us away from the tourist crowds on an informative cruise to the Low Isles. Here we’ll take a guided walk around this heritage island, with the opportunity to paddle and snorkel. A buffet lunch on board before we sail back. Upon our return we check into our Port Douglas accommodation. Oakes Port Douglas (3 nights)

Day 6

Daintree and Cape Tribulation

We travel to north to tropical Far North Queensland. A stop at Mossman Gorge on our way to Cape Tribulation and the Kulki Boardwalk where the rainforest meets the reef. This afternoon we explore the Daintree Rainforest and visit the Daintree Ice Cream Company and the famous tea plantation. We end the day with a wildlife spotting river cruise in search of cassowary and crocs.
