Spend 4 nights on King Island, then on to Flinders Island for 3 nights. We explore both islands in depth and get a real sense of the island life, people and nature. Our exceptionally unique tour includes a scenic flight directly between the two islands. We spend the morning in Launceston before journeying home to Sydney.

Our tours are welcome for anybody to join. If you live outside the above areas you can make your own way to Sydney Airport and we will meet you there.

Day 1

Journey Sydney to King Island

Scott and the airport shuttles will transfer you to Sydney Airport for your flight to King Island via Melbourne. Island Breeze Motel (4 nights).

Day 2

Explore north of the island and Cape Wickham Lighthouse

Today we head out to the wild coastal landscapes of the north of King Island including Yellow Rock Beach, Penny’s Lagoon and Martha Lavinia Beach. We make a stop at Cape Wickham Lighthouse which is the tallest in the Southern Hemisphere.

Day 3

Explore south of the island Calcified Forest, Grassy and Naracoopa

We explore the shipwreck coast of King Island including the Calcified Forest  and the rugged cliffs off Seal Rocks. A tour of Grassy township and the seaside village of Naracoopa. This evening after dinner we go spotting Little Penguins.

Day 4

Island life and agriculture

Our local guide will show us the island’s main town Currie including the Kelp Factory, the Museum and the famous Boathouse  – The Restaurant Without Food. A visit to King Island wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the King Island Dairy.

Day 5

Flight direct to Flinders Island

This morning we board our chartered plane from King Island to Flinders Island, the largest of the Furneaux group of 100 islands. Spectacular!

To start our 3 days of exploration. We travel to the west coast of the island where we visit the historic Wybalena Chapel and Cemetery and learn all about the history of the Aboriginal community who were transported here in the 1880’s.  We’ll visit Allports Beach and the island museum, arguably the best museum of its kind in AUS. Before heading to the Furneaux Tavern (3 nights) where you can sit on the deck and gaze over to Cape Barren Island and the spectacular Strezlecki peaks.

Day 6

Northern Flinders Island

Today we travel to the northern part of the island stopping at Sawyers Bay to take in the magnificent views of the west coast. We tour Killiecrankie, home of the famous Killiecrankie Diamonds.  We continue north to Palana then onto North East River for the magnificent views over the sisters Islands and along the beaches south to Babel Island.  We return to Lady Barron and our motel.

Day 7

Whitemark and Strzelecki National Park.

This morning we head to the capital of Flinders Island, Whitemark where we have some time to explore the township and pick up a souvenir before travelling to the beautiful beaches of Trousers Point in Strzelecki National Park. We’ll spend time at the Soldier Settlement Scheme and Walkers Lookout, the best lookout on Flinders with views over virtually the whole of the island. We also view Babel Island from the magnificent east coast beach.

Day 8

Journey home to Sydney via Launceston

We fly via Launceston to Sydney where the airport shuttles are waiting to take you home.

How to book a tour?

To book on one of our tours, you first need to call our office on (02) 4382 2039 and speak to Holly or Scott. To secure your booking, a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of $200 per person is due within 7 days of booking. The balance of the tour is due 60 days before departure.

Please DO NOT send any payment until it has been confirmed by phone that we have availability.

Payment can be made in the following ways: Cheque or Money Order, Visa or Mastercard, Direct remittance. Please contact us for our bank details.
