This relaxed tour teaches us about the ancient history of the area from the dinosaurs who roamed these vast lands to the cultural traditions of the stockman, the red earth of outback Queensland has many stories to tell. Cobb & Co Stagecoach Experience: This experience immerses you in the spirit of the Australian outback, allowing you to ride in a restored stagecoach along the original Longreach to Windorah mail route. You’ll experience the thrill of a stagecoach gallop, hear the pounding hooves, and see the dust and drama of the outback. The Starlight’s Cruise Experience offers a Thomson River sunset cruise with a stockman’s campfire dinner and entertainment. The Australian Age of Dinosaurs Museum of Natural History is a prominent science-based museum. The Museum focuses on preserving Australia’s fossil past for future generations to learn from and find inspiration in and includes the most productive Fossil Preparation Laboratory in the Southern Hemisphere.

Passengers outside Sydney and the Central Coast
Our tours are welcome for anybody to join. If you live outside the above areas you can make your own way to Sydney Airport and we will meet you there.
Day 1
Journey to Longreach
Scott and the airport shuttles will transfer you to Sydney Airport for your flight to Longreach Airport where our coach will be waiting to take you to the Longreach Motor Inn for a 5 night stay.
Day 2
Explore Longreach
We start the day with a gallop along an outback track in a fully-laden Cobb & Co Stage Coach travelling on the original mail route between Longreach and Windorah. Relax on an evening sunset cruise on the Thompson River, followed by a campfire meal with outback entertainment.
Day 3
Explore Longreach
A visit to the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame & Outback Heritage Centre including the Outback Stockman’s Show. Across the road to the Qantas Founders Museum and a Secrets of The 747 Tour.
Day 4
Winton and the Australian Age of Dinosaurs
We spend the morning at the Australian Age of Dinosaurs in Winton. The museum is home to the world’s biggest collection of Australia’s largest dinosaurs as well as life-sized bronze dinosaurs at Dinosaur Canyon. A visit to the North Gregory Hotel where in 1895 the first public recital of “Waltzing Matilda” was given.
Day 5
Barcaldine
It’s back to school this morning in the world’s largest classroom with a tour of The Longreach School of Distance Education. We head to historic Barcaldine which became famous as the centre of the shearers’ strike in 1891. It is home to the Australian Workers Heritage Centre which showcases the experiences of workers and the difficult conditions in which they often laboured in days gone by.
Day 6
Journey home to Sydney
Some free time in town this morning before we fly from Longreach back to Sydney where the airport shuttles are waiting to take you home.

To book on one of our tours, you first need to call our office on (02) 4382 2039 and speak to Holly or Scott. To secure your booking, a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of $200 per person is due within 7 days of booking. The balance of the tour is due 60 days before departure.
