Our tours are welcome for anybody to join. If you live outside the above areas you can make your own way to Sydney Airport and we will meet you there.

Day 1

Journey from Sydney to Lord Howe Island

Scott and the airport shuttles will transfer you to Sydney Airport for your flight to Lord Howe Island where we will be taken to our accommodation for the week. Blue Lagoon Lodge  ( 6 nights ).

Day 2

Guided tour of the island

We explore the island today with our local guide Peter Phillips, learning all about the ‘Howe,’ what, when and where. We discover the islander’s social history, early settlement, predators and pests, flora and fauna, ships, flying boats and the airstrip, island tales and even buried treasure! This evening we are out to dinner at The Golf Club.

Day 3

Glass Bottom Boat, guided North Bay bird walk and Ian Hutton talk

Turtle spotting this morning. We join Anthony, a 6th generation islander, in a Glass Bottom Boat out on our North Bay Turtle and Nature tour. Anthony will take you to see the coral and turtles and explain the history as well as the Marine Life of our pristine Lagoon.

Along the way is a guided bird walk at North Bay which is a permanent Park Reserve. Lunch on the beach before heading back to town. This afternoon we are treated to an informative talk by renowned naturalist, photographer and part-time museum curator Ian Hutton. In a wonderful visual presentation, making liberal use of Ian’s incredible collection of photographs, you will learn much about the islands’ geologic origins, flora, fauna, evolution stories and landscape. Dinner at Coral Café.

Day 4

Clear Place Point

A walk to Clear Place Point this morning. Free time this afternoon to relax and soak up island life. This evening we enjoy dinner at the Driftwood restaurant.

Day 5

Little Island and Around Island Boat Cruise

We start the morning with a leisurely stroll.  Little Island is a gentle walk along the southwestern shoreline through ancient forests of Banyan trees and endemic Kentia palms. You might catch a glimpse of the incredibly rare Providence Petrels flying around the twin peaks of Mt Gower and Lidgbird.

This afternoon we explore more of the island with the Around the Island Scenic Boat Cruise. This breathtaking 2hr circumnavigation of the magnificent volcanic island shows you a different aspect as you watch the incredible bird life on the cliffs while cruising behind the northern hills and the majestic southern peaks. From a distance we can view Balls Pyramid, the largest Sea Stack in the world.

Day 6

Environmental Boat Cruise, Neds Beach and Lord Howe Brewery

View the pristine beauty of one of the worlds untouched reef systems this morning. This Environmental Boat Tour focuses on exploring the coral seascape and introduces us to some of the more unusual lagoon inhabitants.

A visit to Neds Beach with it’s golden sands and calm waters at the islands North East to hand feed the beautiful fish. You will be surrounded by Mullet, Wrasse, Garfish, Silver-drummer, Spangled Emperor and Kingfish.

This afternoon we head to Lord Howe Brewery to sample the truly unique creation using endemic plants found on the island and take an interesting tour of the islands nursery with its special foraging and research program.

Day 7

Journey home to Sydney

We take a direct flight to Sydney where the airport shuttles are waiting to take you home.

How to book a tour?

To book on one of our tours, you first need to call our office on (02) 4382 2039 and speak to Holly or Scott. To secure your booking, a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of $200 per person is due within 7 days of booking. The balance of the tour is due 60 days before departure.

Please DO NOT send any payment until it has been confirmed by phone that we have availability.

Payment can be made in the following ways: Cheque or Money Order, Visa or Mastercard, Direct remittance. Please contact us for our bank details.
